MCBERNS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS IN BUSINESS

by siteManager on May.11, 2011, under Latest News

This year McBerns celebrates its 20th Anniversary in business, servicing the Water and Wastewater industry. We began in 1991 operating in S.E. Queensland region with the launch of the McBerns AutoWellWasher™. The design of this product came about because we recognised the significant dangers and safety issues associated with men having to go down into pump stations to clean fat and grease build-up off the well walls; but 20 years ago, this was the way it was being done. We believed there was a safer way to do such a basic job. Now the AutoWellWasher™ has set the standard and is the first choice for keeping pump stations clean and reducing confined space entries.

The Well Washer set McBerns on the Workplace, Health & Safety road in the Wastewater Industry. We recognized the need to keep pace with technical and environmental trends and WH&S improvements. So, we developed products and services for odour management and maintenance issues, to assist in making maintenance tasks safer and faster.

We have developed the McBerns Odour Filters; they don’t mask odours, they adsorb and treat H2S and other gases, releasing clean air back into the environment. Our aim was to make them environmentally friendly, easily rechargeable and affordable. The filter range covers sizes from 50mm, VF100, VF150, VF300 vent filters and the Ground Mount Filters GM300, GM375 and now the larger ZC300. The Ground Mount Filters are now often being used to replace old corroded vent poles, which allow all future maintenance to be carried out at ground level.

Now McBerns has released our new Sealed Safety Lid*(Patent and Design Applications are in progress). It will set new industry benchmarks, improving WH&S with the innovative hinged safety grates with      4-way void protection barriers, gas and water tight sealing and other features which are standard inclusions in our safety lid design. We believe that our custom made Safety Lids have significantly improved hatch cover design. We pay particular attention to detail and consistent quality, we are always looking for ways to improve on the design features and all aspects of manufacture.

McBerns is nationally and internationally recognized for providing quality products and dependable  technical services to the Water and Wastewater Industry.

We are proud to be part of this important industry sector. Celebrating 20 years in business demonstrates McBerns long term commitment and willingness to adapt and change with our clients and industry. Our commitment for the next 20 years is to remain competitive, innovative and cost effective.

MCBERNS PRODUCTS:

ZC300 ODOUR FILTER

We have been busy over the last six months finalizing and releasing our new larger ZC300 Odour Filter. It has larger capacity and is capable of handling much greater air flows up to 200lps. It has been designed to be used at sites where odours are a real problem.

The ZC300 extracts and treats gaseous emissions in wastewater collection systems and small treatment plants. It is suitable for use on sewer mains, manholes; pump stations, packaged treatment systems etc.  It can be used with an extraction fan or as a static unit to capture noxious gases. It uses a clever combination of impregnated activated carbon and four McBerns media cartridges.

It’s a fast, efficient & economical fix for your larger more difficult odour problems.
