The McBerns Sewage Pump Station Safety Lid has been designed with Safety as a Priority and Odour Reduction as our Primary Target. Important features of our custom made lids are our Safety Grates and Gas Tight Seal.

The fixed hinged safety grate swings up and locks in place onto the lid to form a 3-sided barrier when the lid is open. The lids and grates can be opened in varying combinations depending on requirements, thus making onsite maintenance safer when lids are open. The gas tight seal prevents odour emissions and also prevents infiltration into pump stations during heavy rain events. A removable safety grate version is also available.

The McBerns Safety Lids are made of robust lightweight aluminum alloy and are coated with an anti-theft, non-slip coating. The reduced trip hazards, pump-out flap in grate, concealed lock box and greased locking pin, and a gas sampling port for odour logging before opening lids, all improve WH&S for work crews. The Safety Grates have been load tested to 1000kgs.
